VIDEO: Watch the incident that prompted coarse reaction from Hearts of Oak fans in Kumasi

Lawyer Sarfo Duku, Public Relations Officer of Asante Kotoko, has lamented the fans' behaviour during his outfit’s 2-0 win over arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in a friendly encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors recorded back to back victory over the Phobians in the space of seven days – having recorded the same number of goals against them last week.

Second-half substitute Obed Owusu opened the scoring for the Reds after a swift counter-attacking football before Emmanuel Gyamfi sealed victory with a fine strike.

In the build-up to Asante Kotoko’s opening goal, Hearts winger Patrick Razak was dispossessed off the ball in the goal area by Kotoko defender Agyemang Badu, which the fans believed should have merited a penalty but was waved off by referee Kwame Sefah.

The supporters of the Phobians vented their frustration on the official and started throwing missiles onto the pitch which led to the arrest of seven of their fans.

In an interview with Ohene Bampoe–Brenya on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports, Asante Kotoko spokesman, Lawyer Duku lamented on the disheartening situation and advised the fans to desist from ill-bahaviours at match venues.

“The decision of the referee is final. If anyone is doubting the first goal, the person should go for the clip. We didn’t go to the refereeing course with him.”

“I think the referee lost control of the game early in the game. Some infringement that I believe deserves a card was let go by him.”

“I am advising football fans to desist from indiscipline behaviours in the stadium. It won’t help our game.”
