Wa All Stars C.E.O Oduro Nyarko confident of title defence

Chief executive Officer of Ghana Premier League Champions Wa All Stars, Oduro Sarfo is optimistic the club can still defend the title despite a difficult first round for the Northern Blues.

Wa All Stars became champions of the league for the first time in their history last season when they swept aside every club with ease.

However, the defence of the title has become a difficult task with the club lying 9th on the table having already lost five times after the first round.

Mr. Oduro Nyarko who was speaking on Accra Based TV StationMetro TV seemed unperturbed but very confident of atitle defence.

“Unless it is two matches to go and the team leading has eight points ahead of you. Even if it is two matches to go and the teamleading has six points you can still overtake them,”he said.

“Now it is only eleven points and we have fifteen games to go so we do not doubt ourselves at all,” he added.

The C.EO of the Nothern Blues also indicated losing their invincibility at home has affected them tremendously. The team was beaten at home by WAFA and Bechemat home this season- an event that is rare at the WA Park.

“In the first round we lost two games at home that is very unsual of WA All Stars to lose at home. People call here the dreaded Wa Parkand that’s the accolade,

“But these days WAFA camehere to beat us 4-1, and BechemUnited beat us 1-0 so it’s like it’s becoming the “undreaded” park,

“So the second round we will not lose not even one game at home and we will try and win matches away so we will stand achance of winning the title.”

Wa All Stars will begin the second at their “dreaded” home against Ashantigold in the Ghana Premier League this weekend.
