The title success of Wa All Stars in this season's Ghana Premier League will serve as a boost to the political fortunes of the ruling National Democratic Congress in the 2015/2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The league champions were crowned victors this evening after defeating fellow-contenders Aduana Stars 2-1 this afternoon at the Malik Jabir Park in Wa.

Wa, the vicinity where All Stars are based has traditionally been the stronghold of the ruling party for many years.

The title success of All Stars on Wednesday afternoon will provide the NDC with the platform to campaign on the grounds that the first Ghana Premier League title was won by a club from the Upper West during their reign.

The Executives of the party in the region have already began plans to encourage the electorate to retain President John Dramani Mahama in order for more of such successes to continue.

President Mahama has also pledged to construct a national stadium in the region if he is re-elected and the facility will be used by All Stars as the only premiership club in the region upon completion.

Ghana heads to the polls on December 7 with President Mahama seeking a four-year revnewal of his mandate.
