In form midfielder Majeed Ashimeru of West Africa Football Academy says the experience in the side has contributed to their form this season.

The Academy boys are on a good run of form in the Ghana Premier League topping the table with 35 points from 17 games.

WAFA hold the record of the longest winning streak this season following their seven wins on a row in the first half of the season which saw them beat Champions WA All Stars.

Majeed Ashimeru who scored a stunner long range effort in their 5-0 demolishing of Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday also revealed they were optimistic of beating Hears but did not think they hammer them by that score line.

“We weren’t sure we will beat them five zero but we knew we will beat them here. We have a record of not losing at home so we wanted to keep that,” he said after the game.

The midfielder has formed a solid partnership with Gideon Waja in the heart of midfield, boosted in attack by Togolese Komlan Agbeniadan.

According to Ashimeru the guys have been playing for close to two to three seasons hence the experience and form.

“We’ve been together for some time and only two or three players have left us. We know ourselves well and we enjoy playing together,” he added.

WAFA are top of the table with 35 points after 17 games.
