WAFA midfielder Majeed Ashimeru insists the team is focused on winning games

West Africa Football Academy midfielder Majeed Ashimeru says the club is not bent on winning the league but rather focused on winning each game at a time.

 

The Academy boys walloped Accra Hearts of Oak 5-0 in the match Day 17 of the Ghana Premier League.

 

Majeed Ashimeru scored a stunning goal from 35yards to open the flood gates at Sogakope.

 

The 19 year old has been amazing this season after some brilliant displays with a couple of Man of The Match accolades.

 

“We just enjoy winning. With this win we are happy so we always keep winning our games,” he said after the game.

 

“Our management keeps on telling us to win our games so we place a respectable position,” he added.

 

The talented midfielder has already emerged contender of the player of the season.

 

He was named in the Black Stars team B that have been preparing for the CHAN qualifiers against Burkina Faso.

 

WAFA are top of the table with 35 points and will next travel to play Liberty Professionals in Dansoman.
