WAFU Cup: Ghana defender Emmanuel Ampiah ruled out of Niger clash

Ghana defender Emmanuel Ampiah has been ruled out of the semifinal clash against Niger in the West Africa Football Union Championship. 

The Elmina Sharks left back picked up a knock in the 2-0 defeat to the Super Eagles of Nigeria and could not recover in time for tomorrow's clash.

The defender had to be replaced by Accra Hearts of midfielder, Patrick Razak in the final group game. The injury adds to Coach Maxwell Konadu long list of players that could potential miss tomorrow's game.

Other players under study ahead of the Niger clash include, Captain Isaac Twum, Amos Frimpong of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Gideon Waja.

Musah Nuhu was ruled out of the competition completely.

Meanwhile, the team has been boosted by the return of Accra Hearts of Oak Captain Thomas Abbey, who was missing in the game against Nigeria.
