Burkinabe star, Yacouba Songne's brace sealed the win Asante Kotoko against their sworn rivals Hearts of Oak in the first leg of the specially arranged Super-2 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday afternoon.
Songne broke the deadlock of the game in the 41st minute to put Kotoko ahead at halftime with a fantastic close-range strike.
Following an impressive start to the second half, Hearts of Oak were dealt a major blow on the hour mark as Robert Addo was sent off following a reckless challenge. It was the youngster's second bookable offense.
Two minutes later, Porcupine Warriors made their man advantage count, Yacouba Sogne again applied the finish to what was a brilliant counter-attacking move by the Porcupine Warriors to seal the victory.
The 26-year-old has been outstanding since he joined from Malian side Stade Malian.
