Watford midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah is in line for an England call-up.
Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate has made checks and enquiries on the Watford midfielder and was impressed with him at under-21 level, says the Mirror.
It is a position - holding midfielder - which is a big concern to Southgate and he may take a look at former Chelsea starlet Chalobah in the squad to face Lithuania and Malta.
Southgate names the squad on Thursday and is weighing it up as reward for Chalobah's under-21 form and also his decision to go and play regular football at Watford.
