Vice-Captain of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Eric Donkor says the club cannot afford to drop any points against their bitterest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in the Super Clash on Sunday, following the difficult period the club has gone through.

The Porcupine Warriors were involved in a fatal accident when their team bus run into a stationery car enroute to Kumasi last month. The accident claimed the life of their equipment officer with other players badly injured.

However, the team is back in action on Sunday in what has been dubbed to be an emotional game for the Kumasi based side.

Despite, the unfortunate events of the past weeks, deputy Captain Eric Donkor insists the club is optimistic of beating Kotoko and has asked fans of the club to throng to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to give them massive support.

“It has been difficult weeks for Kotoko. Losing and being involved in an accident the same day presented a difficult moment but we thank God most of us are fit now. I believe once there is life there is everything. We will continue to serve the team and give our fans the needed results starting this Sunday. It is a game we cannot afford to drop points” he stated.

This will be the Porcupine Warriors first competitive game since the gory car crush but after being declared by the medical team to play, the squad busied themselves with a friendly against lower tier side Nat Coster in midweek. A game they won 4-1.

Kotoko are currently fifth on the table and have another game in hand against West Africa Football Academy.
