We have not petitioned FIFA - GHALCA insists

Fred Pappoe, a member of Ghana League Clubs Association [GHALCA] says his outfit has not presented a petition to FIFA as reported in the media yesterday.

It has emerged that the executive of GHALCA has sent a petition to FIFA to get the world football governing body to intervene in the current impasse between the government of Ghana and football authorities in the country.

However, the director of Accra Great Olympics admitted that the said petition was from GHALCA but denied that it had already been sent to the world football governing body.

“GHALCA’s petition to FIFA hasn’t gone yet. What you saw was a draft that was sent to some members for inputs and a few over-zealous guys leaked it to the media,” he told Citi Sports.

“It might not even go. It might also go in an edited form to reflect current developments.”

Meanwhile, the former Ghana FA vice president has also revealed that GHALCA will on Monday meet the Liason Team led by Dr Kofi Amoah to discuss the way forward in returning football to the country.
