We need to beef up the team for the Burkina Faso game- Coach Maxwell Konadu

Black Stars team B coach, Maxwell Konadu says he has to beef up the squad ahead of the Championship of African Nations qualifier against Burkina Faso.

The team has been preparing at the Ghana Soccer Center of Excellence since Tuesday but Coach Maxwell Konadu has struggled to get the full complement of his squad.

With several players out for trials, the former Asante Kotoko manager is left with no choice but to invite some new players into the squad, a situation he has revealed is hindering preparations.

Coach Maxwell Konadu will be missing the likes of Majeed Ashimeru and Daniel Lomotey who are key to the team but has made efforts by inviting former under-17 striker Saddick Adams.

“When you observe the team, we brought in Saddick Adams, we are not saying he is going to do everything but we think with the short period he has been in the league he is doing well and the team is for all Ghanaians,” he said.

“We have been doing well but I think we can do better and that is why we have called some of these players,”

“Defensively, when we are attacking we do well. Most of our goals are scored and created by our defenders and wingers and so we are encouraging the strikers to score,”

“For instance if you look at WAFA’s Lomotey, he is good but he is not with the team, we are struggling to get through to him so we need to beef up of the so we can get a good result in Burkina.”

The Black Stars team B defeated Accra Great Olympics in a friendly on Thursday and look set for another game against Elmina Sharks this weekend.
