English Premier League side West Ham United are interested in signing Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah in exchange for defender Reece Oxford.

Athletico Madrid are reported to be interested in West Ham United's Reece Oxford, however, the club will have to let Ghanaian midfielder, Bernard Mensah whom the London club have been interested in since 2015 go the other way.

According to the Telegraph Athletico are keen on signing the player, who has seen his career stall at the London Stadium despite his obvious talent.

Reece Oxford  is currently out on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, who failed in an £8 million bid for the player in January - as the same report from the Telegraph describes.

Meanwhile, Bernard Mensah is enjoying a good season with Turkish side Kasimpasa after joining from Athletico Madrid on a season long loan in the summer.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder was linked with West Ham back in 2015. According to a report from the Mirror the Hammers were set to battle Juventus for the the player who was on fire for Portuguese side Vitoria Guimares at the time.

And with West Ham going to lose one top talent then they would be wise to ensure another one is arriving as well. Making sure Mensah is part of any Oxford to Atletico agreement could be the perfect solution.
