West Ham United are planning an audacious deadline day bid for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
The Portugal international arrived at Camp Nou from Valencia last summer but failed to impress in his debut season, even drawing jeers from the Barca crowd in February.
According to ESPN, Hammers boss Slaven Bilic has turned his attention towards the 22-year old, as a deal for Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho looks increasingly unlikely.
Gomes has only appeared once this season - in second leg of the Supercopa de Espana - and does not feature in Ernesto Valverde's future plans.
West Ham face competition from Juventus for the 24-year old.
