Wilfred Osei Palmer wants Ghana Premier League kick-off time changed

An Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association Wilfred Palmer wants the kick off time of the Ghana Premier League changed.

Over the years, the premier league has always kicked off on Sundays at 3pm.

For Wilfred Osei who doubles as the owner of Tema Youth, this is not helping the federation in their quest of seeking sponsorship for the league.

He insists, sponsors are not getting the necessary mileage due to the limited time of visibility.

“The kick off time for the GPL which start at 3:00pm is not helpful at all. In terms of sponsorship, the sponsor has a two-hour mileage to benefit from.

“But if you look at other leagues around the World for instance like England, Spain and other jurisdictions you would realize that have about seven hours of football and don’t you think sponsors will happy getting this mileage and ready to come on board.

“So even by changing the kick off time it will even bring sponsors on board,” Palmer told Okokroko FM.
