We will fall heavily to Hearts of Oak – Charles Ntim

President of Techiman City FC, Charles Kwadjo Ntim believes his team will lose heavily to Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

Concerns have been raised by club owners and coaches in the Premier league after the Premier league Board (PLB) changed the fixtures date for week 24 of the Ghana Premier League, which was originally scheduled to come off on Sunday, 14th August to a day earlier in a bid to help garner support for Medeama SC in their CAF Confederations Cup crunch tie against Congolese side TP Mazembe on Sunday at the Essipong stadium.

Charles Ntim went ahead to echo the sentiments of club administrators who felt the move by PLB will only serve as an advantage for some teams especially those that will be playing at home at the expense of away teams who will not have enough time to adequately prepare due to bad timing of the announcement made the league board.

“The changes made by PLB have disorganized our preparations towards the Hearts of Oak game. We’ve planned extensively for this particular game until we were informed by the board that we’ll be playing the game on Saturday instead of Sunday because of travelling issues and psyche of the boys. We have already booked the hotel we’ll be staying already and when we informed the hotel management of the changes they told us that there’s nothing they can do to refund our money.

“All these factors come into play when you have a big game against a big club like Hearts of Oak. I think we’ll lose heavily on Saturday, there’s no doubt about that. I don’t think we’ll play our best game against such a wounded team like Hearts when they are gunning to return to top of the league table and so it shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody when they beat us mercilessly.”

“Even though we’ll all rally behind Medeama to win, I think the timing of the changes made by the PLB is not appropriate and I’ll urge them to do things right next time.” He told Happy FM.

Accra Hearts of Oak are yet to taste defeat at the Accra Sports stadium under the tutelage of new coach Sergio Traguil and will be hoping o preserve that record with a convincing win against the League debutants Techiman City.
