Asante Kotoko attacker Obed Owusu wants his side to build on their performance against Hearts of Oak in their subsequent matches. The Porcupine Warriors for the sixth time running recorded a favorable result at the Accra Sports Stadium after defeating the former CAF Champions League winners 1-0 in the derby clash on Monday.

Kotoko, having performed poorly so far this season were able to secure the bragging rights with a narrow win over their rivals.

Burkinabe international goalkeeper Soulama Abdulai was a culprit after giving away a cheap goal when he failed to control a simple back pass from defender Richard Akrofi which eventually saw the ball crawl into an empty net.

Owusu who was outstanding for his side in the game wants the win to be a stepping stone ahead of their remaining games in the Ghana Premier League.

“We are happy for this win but I think that is not all, we have to do well in our upcoming games,” he told pressmen.

“This win has motivated us a lot. It has boosted us for our next game, we hope we continue with this kind of performance.

“It was not an easy game, but we gave in our best and we were able to get the three points.”

Kotoko will next host Ebusua Dwarfs at the Babayara Sports Stadium.
