Aduana Stars midfielder Zakaria Mumuni says he wants to use his call up to the national team to defend the brand of the domestic league, thus, Ghana Premier League.

The former WAFA winger was given a call up by Kwesi Appiah after his outstanding performance in the Ghana Premier League and the Black Stars team B.

Zakaria Mumuni also promised to use the opportunity to make a permanent stay in the team after many local players struggle to maintain their footing in the national team proper.

“I just can’t imagine how far I have gone in the game of football. To have been a call up into the senior national team means a lot to me but I have to thank my team mates for the progress.

“The confidence reposed on us by the head coaches of the national team is something we must if we are to ask for more from the handlers. I am however ready to defend the brand name of the GHPL and make it more appealing when given the platform”, Zakaria Mumuni briefed Sports Crusader.

Other local players to have been called into the team are Gideon Waja and Majeed Ashimeru all of WAFA.

The Black Stars are preparing for the International Friendlies against the United States and Mexico to be played in Houston.
