The Black Princesses of Ghana are champions of the women’s football tournament at the 13th African Games after avoiding a defeat in all five matches.

The Ghana U20 women’s national team grabbed the gold after beating the Falconets of Nigeria 2-1 in the final of the tournament on Thursday night.

In the final played at the Cape Coast Stadium, Nigeria took the lead in the first half. However, stunning goals from Tracey Twum and Abdulai Mukarama inspired the Black Princesses to come from behind to secure victory.

On the road to winning gold at the 13th African Games, the Black Princesses stayed unbeaten.

There were wins over Ethiopia and Tanzania in the first two group-stage matches before a draw against Uganda in the last group game.

In the semi-final, the Black Princesses hammered Senegal 3-1.
