As many as 2 million supporters of Asante Kotoko are ready to contribute to pay for the salary being demanded by Sogne Yacouba to ensure he stays at the club beyond his current contract, National Circles Chairman (NCC) of the club Christopher Demenya has said.

The attacker has less than a month remaining on his current contract with the Porcupine Warriors and will leave on a free transfer to another club if nothing changes.

Earlier this year, the management of the Reds tried to extend his contract but his demand for $150,000 as his monthly salary stalled talks before subsequently club executive chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei revealed that they cannot afford.

Speaking to Fox FM today, Christopher Demenya who is Kotoko's National Circles Chairman has disclosed that the situation with Sogne Yacouba could be remedied by the supporters.

According to him, 2 million of them have assured of their readiness to pay from their pocket for the Burkinabe import to stay in Kumasi.

"A total of two million Asante Kotoko supporters are ready to pay for Yacouba to stay, he is ready to stay and we will engage him as National Circles and will solve every misunderstanding", he said.
