20/21 Ghana Premier League: Bechem United beat Karela United 2-1 to go top

Bechem United FC on Friday afternoon posted a 2-1 win over Karela United to climb to the summit of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.

The Hunters hosted the Dawu-based club at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park today for a clash on matchday six of the ongoing Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

In a first half where both teams excelled, neither side could find the back of the net and had to settle for the draw at the break.

Just a minute into the second half, Stephen Owusu scored with a fine effort to hand Bechem United the lead.

Now trailing, Karela United intensified their attack in a bid to score to draw level. Fortunately, the efforts of the away team will pay off in the 56th minute when star man Diawisie Taylor found the back of the net.

The pulsating encounter that ensued from there on saw Listowel Amankona scoring in added time of the second half to secure a 2-1 win for Bechem United against Karela United.

The result sees the winners climbing to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table while Karela United comes down to second.
