Karela United on Sunday afternoon defeated Legon Cities FC 2-0 thanks to goals from Umar Bashiru and Richard Berko.
The Anyinase-based outfit today hosted the side from the Capital at the CAM Park to fight for available points in what was a matchday 29 encounter of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
In a game where both teams played very well, Karela United displayed more desire and as a result, deservedly amassed the crucial three points.
On the matchday, Umar Bashiru finished as the hero after scoring the first goal from the penalty spot in the 25th minute and going on to establish himself as the MVP.
Although Legon Cities FC played well and made strides especially in the second half, it was not enough for the side as they are forced to succumb to the slim defeat.
Today’s result sees Karela United climbing to 3rd on the league table while Legon Cities FC stays in 9th.
