20/21 Ghana Premier League matchday 29: King Faisal beat Great Olympics to climb out of relegation zone

Published on: 13 June 2021

King Faisal have climbed out of the relegation zone of the Ghana Premier League table after posting an important 1-0 win over Accra Great Olympics.

The club based in Kumasi has been battling relegation since the start of the 2020/2021 football season.

On the back of the resignation of the team’s head coach prior to today’s fixture, players have managed to stay motivated to ensure they picked three crucial points from the matchday 29 fixture.

In a game played at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman, King Faisal had a bright start and scored after just seven minutes of play.

Talisman Zubairu Ibrahim latched onto a good pass and slotted in his effort to shoot the hosts into the lead.

Despite Great Olympics dominating play from there on, the noisy Accra Landlords could not equalize and as a result, have been defeated.

King Faisal thus climbs out of the relegation although they need to ensure they win their next match to boost chances of surviving the drop.
