20/21 Ghana Premier League: WAFA fight to draw 1-1 against Elmina Sharks

West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) on Sunday afternoon put up a good fight to ensure they come from behind to share the spoils with Elmina Sharks on Matchday 3 of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.

In a second half of plenty action, the scoreline remained barren after the half-hour mark with both teams failing to make good use of chances that came their way.

Later on with 4 minutes to go into the break, Justice Mensah fired in a good strike to shoot Elmina Sharks into the lead.

Trailing at halftime, WAFA came in stronger after recess determined to draw parity and possibly push for the win.

After several attempts of knocking, the WAFA team finally found a way in the 60th minute when August Boakye scored to bring the home team level.

In the second half, WAFA dominated play and created a number of opportunities. Unfortunately for the side, the defense of Elmina Sharks stood strong to ensure the game ended 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes at the Sogakope Park.
