West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) on Sunday afternoon posted a 4-3 win over King Faisal in the Ghana Premier League to bag their first 3 points of the new football season.

In a Matchday 1 fixture played in Sogakope today, the Academy boys reminded the league of their dominance at the famous home grounds.

A good performance in the first half saw the side with a deserved lead in the 17th minute courtesy of a strike from young attacker Konadu Yiadom

Having wasted multiple chances later on, WAFA will pay in the 33rd minute as King Faisal scored through Kwame Peprah to draw level.

With the game ending in a stalemate at the end of the first half, WAFA returned after recess to display lethal form.

A brace from Daniel Lomotey and a strike from Godwin Agbevor powered the side to a resounding 4-1 lead before the 65th minute.

Later on, the game turned on its head with King Faisal scoring a second through Yakubu Wadudu in the 74th minute, a third through Kwame Peprah.

In the end, it was not enough to save the side from a 4-3 defeat at the hands of WAFA SC.
