2013 Afcon was my best ever tournament for Ghana - Mubarak Wakaso

Ghana and Deportivo Alaves midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has revealed South Africa 2013 African Cup of Nations was his best ever AFCON for Ghana

Wakaso made his full international debut in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi in 2012 and was included in the squad for the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa.

He scored four goals in the tournament as Ghana finished fourth in the competition.

According to the 28-year-old, his best tournament for Ghana was the 2013 AFCON despite reaching the finals with Ghana two year later in Equatorial Guinea.

“2015 AFCON can be one of the best tournaments I have had with Ghana but I think South Africa was my best AFCON, he told Footballmadeinghana.com in an exclusive interview.

“I had my first AFCON in South Africaand my best too. Just that in 2015 we reached the finals, that is the difference,”

The former Celtic midfielder finished the tournament as the joint top scorer alongside Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike with four goals each.
