Mr Kudjoe Fianoo, Black Queens management head says the team should blame themselves for the 2-1 defeat to Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.

Ghana looked to secure early qualification to the semi-finals of the ongoing 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations following their opening day win over Algeria.

A double from home-based striker Bassira Toure ensured Les Aiglonnes to also revived their campaign following their defeat to Cameroon in their group opener.

Mali need a point from their last match against Algeria to progress to the semi-final.

According to former AshantiGold Chief Executive Officer Fianoo who has been put in charge to manage the affairs of the Black Queens for the tournament insists they are defeated but Ghana shot itself in the foot.

“We are so disappointed in this result,” he told FootballmadeinGhana.com.

“We thought that we could wrap up our qualification with this game and we have ourselves to blame.

“I think that we did not come to the party.”

Ghana must win against Cameroon who are favourites to win the tournament on Friday to stand a chance of qualification.
