2018 WAFU CUP: Black Queens thrash Burkina Faso 4:1 to book semi final place

The Black Queens of the defeated Burkina Faso 4:1 in their final Group A game to book a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing competition in Cote d'Ivoire on Sunday.

Mercy Tagoe and her ladies needed to win against the Burkinabes to ensure their qualification to the semi-finals and they did in a grand style.

Portia Boakye and Grace Asantewaa scored two quick goals to put Ghana in a better position in the first half.

After the first half break, Priscilla Okyere scored Queens’ third goal but the Burkinabe then pushed forward and they reduced the deficit.

However, Portia then grabbed his brace to restore Ghana’s three-goal advantage.

The Black Queens will now meet Group B winners Nigeria in the semi-finals.
