2018 WAFU: Portia Boakye wins goal queen award

Interim captain of the Black Queens, Portia Boakye has been crowned as the top scorer of the just ended 2018 WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations tournament.

Portia led by example in the absence of general captain Elizabeth Addo.

The winger scored four goals in five matches to emerge the highest scorer beating Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade who scored three.

The Ferencvárosi TC winger and the 2015 African Women’s Footballer played an influential role in helping the Queens to win the trophy.

The Black Queens defeated host country, Ivory Coast a lone goal to win the tournament on Saturday evening.
