Legon Cities FC has posted a 1-0 win against Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium in a Match Week 8 fixture of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
The rebranded Wa All Stars club went into today's fixture on the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of Karela United when they visited the side at the Tarkwa Akoon Community Park.
Now in need of a win to try and revive what has been an inconsistent season, Legon Cities FC has put up the required fight to see off the challenge of Elmina Sharks.
An evenly matched encounter between the two clubs ended goalless with both sets of attackers failing to make good use of the few chances that came their way.
In the second half, an 87th-minute penalty converted by Karim Jabila ensured that the Royals cruised to a 1-0 win. This is the team's second victory in the Ghana Premier League and has lifted them out of the relegation zone into the 13th position.
