Veteran Ghanaian football coach J.E Sarpong believes the invited players to face Kenya in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers by coach Kwesi Appiah will make it to the tournament in June.

The former Kotoko gaffer says eighty percent of the invited Ghanaian players to face Kenya at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 23, will represent the country in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations slated for Egypt and has edged Ghanaians to support the coach break the country's trophy drought.

Coach Kwesi Appiah named his 24-man squad for the last Afcon qualifier in Accra. In the squad are four debutants thus Amos Frimpong (Kotoko SC, Ghana), Kwame Bonsu (Kotoko SC, Ghana), Joseph Aidoo (Genk, Belgium), and Alhassan Wakaso (Vitória S.C, Portugal)

"This Black Stars squad is just a dress rehearsal for the AFCON. I believe 80% of the team will be going to AFCON so let’s just support him".

"As at now, I don’t see any Ghanaian player getting the African best player of the year award in the coming two years crucially. We don’t have the men now but let's support Kwesi Appiah", he told Happy FM Sports.
