2019 Afcon: Enyimba FC goalkeeper Fatau Dauda backs Ghana to top Group F

Published on: 14 April 2019

Ghana and Enyimba F.C goalkeeper Fatau Dauda believes the Black Stars will top Group F of the 2019 African Cup of Nations after paired alongside defending champions Cameroon, Guinea Bissau and Benin.

Coach Kwesi Appiah's side have been placed in Group F and Dauda says the four-time African Champions have what it takes to finish Group F with maximum points ahead of their counterparts.

Speaking in an exclusive to SportsworldGhana.com, the 34-year-old shot-stopper claims that all the other teams are no pushovers but is confident Ghana will finish the group as leaders.

”Very well, I think Ghana can top Group F but shouldn’t underrate its competitors because every country that have qualified did so on merit and mean business and coming to the tournament with winning mentality.” he told SportsworldGhana.com in an interview.

The former AshantiGold goalkeeper featured for the Black Stars at the 2013 and 2015 Cup of Nations in South Africa and Equatorial Guinea respectively.

Coach Kwasi Appiah has been tasked by the Ghana Football Association to win Ghana its fifth Cup of Nations title this year in Egypt.
