Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) spokesman, Ademola Olajire insists Nigeria might still be tagged favourites to win this years' Africa Cup of Nations.
Though, many sports pundit rates Nigeria as favourite to clinch the 2019 Total AFCON trophy due to their recent performance in the tournament.
The Super Eagles have been to the AFCON on 18 occasions and have won three times, thus in 1980, 1994 and 2013.
"Nigeria might be tagged as favourites at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt but we don't see it as such. Nigeria will prepare very well for the tournament and be ready for any country that comes our way", he said.
"But Ghana is a tough team with great players so they can cause a surprise in Egypt".
Meanwhile, Ademola Olajire hinted to Kumasi-based radio station Ashh FM, as to why a preparatory friendly match between Ghana and Nigeria was cancelled.
"The friendly game between Ghana and Nigeria has been cancelled and we are very disappointed because we thought Ghana was going to be the toughest opponent to help Nigeria prepare our team for the Afcon 2019".
"The Ghana FA wrote to us hours ago for the cancellation of the friendly game because there have been changes in their training program", he revealed
