CONFIRMED: Ghana set to host Sierra Leone In Kumasi

The Normalization committee has confirmed Baba Yara Stadium as the venue for Black Stars' AFCON Qualifier match against Sierra Leone.

Ghana will welcome the ‎Leone Stars to Kumasi in the third round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in the Garden City on October 11.

The normalization committee on Tuesday September 25,  wrote to the Sierra Leone Football Association confirming date and venue for the AFCON 2019 qualifier between the two nations.

Speaking to Kumasi based Oyerepa FM, Ibrahim Kamara, head of Media and Marketing at the SLFA acknowledged receipt of the letter from the current Ghanaian football governing body.

“Yes we have received a letter from Ghana indicating that the match will be played at Baba Yara Stadium on the 11th of October, ” he said

” The second leg at Freetown is also on the 15th of October. We are looking forward to coming to Ghana, our head coach traveled to London and he’s expected back this week,’’ he added.

The Black Stars opened their African campaign with an emphatic 5-0 win over Ethiopia in July 2017 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before losing 1-0 to Sebastian Migne’s Kenya side on September 8 this month in Nairobi.
