Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah says there is unity in camp ahead of the commencement of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

There have been reports of confusion in the Stars camp following the decision to appoint Andre Ayew the captain of the side, however, the former Ghana international says the level of unity in the camp gives him hope that the Black Stars can have a successful tournament this year.

”I am very confident in the team because it doesn’t matter who plays, all of them have confidence. Their willingness to kill themselves for the nation is really high and there is big time unity in camp,” the 58-year-old gaffer told JoySports in an interview.

The Black Stars have been camping in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates since June 1.

Ghana have placed in Group F alongside defending champions Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau and Benin.

Ghana’s opening match will be against Benin on Tuesday, June 25 at the Ismailia Stadium.
