Ghana after progressing from the first round of the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations tournament is now set to come up against Burkina Faso in a quarter-final match later this evening.

Both teams want to clinch the ultimate prize at the end of the tournament but will first need to come out victorious in the cracking fixture.

Ghana reigned supreme at the round of 16 stage when they defeated Gambia 1-0 on Tuesday night. A second-half strike from Joseph Esso was enough to hand the side qualification to the quarter-finals.

Though Burkina Faso sailed past Mauritania through the penalty shootout after drawing 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes, they present a very tough opposition and will give Maxwell Konadu and his team a good run for their money.

Ghana who is the defending champions of the tournament wants to win at all cost to keep her hopes of retaining the title.

The big match will be played at the Stade Lat Dior at 20:00GMT.
