2020 CHAN Qualifier: Black Stars B miss out on CHAN tournament

Published on: 21 October 2019

Black Stars B failed to qualify for the 2020 African Nations Championship after drawing goalless with Burkina Faso in the final round qualifier on Sunday.

The result meant Ghana have missed out on the CHAN tournament for the third consecutive time after they got eliminated 1-0 on aggregate.

The local senior national team suffered a 1-0 defeat at home in the first leg tie at the Baba Yara Stadium but failed to score in return leg tie in Ouagadougou.

Black Stars B beat the Stallions 4-1 on penalties two weeks ago en route to reaching the final of the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations in Senegal.

However, coach Maxwell Konadu and his charges could not replicate the same feat and got eliminated from the competition.

Since losing the 2014 finals in South Africa, Ghana have now failed to qualify for the last two tournaments played in Rwanda (2016) and Morocco (2018).
