2021/22 Ghana Premier League: Dreams v Asante Kotoko matchday 1 preview

Published on: 29 October 2021

At the Accra Sports stadium, Dreams FC will host Asante Kotoko in what is expected to be a tight contest as the Ghana Premier League kicks off.

Dreams will hope to get their season off to a good start after making some interesting acquisitions over the summer whilst Kotoko, who would aim to usurp current champions Hearts of Oak, hope to please their fans.

There will be two main topics ahead of this game; Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Prosper Narteh.

At the deadline day of the Ghanaian transfer window, Dreams FC acquired Ghanaian wonderkid Fatawu Issahaku on a loan deal, beating other suitors in the process. Issahaku will certainly have eyes watching in his first GPL game.

Prosper Narteh has been charged with coaching Kotoko to a league trophy after narrowly missing out last season. With his wealth of experience and some players to rely on, Narteh will aim to win the love of many.

Kotoko have won four of their last five encounters with Dreams FC.

Prediction: Dreams 1-2 Kotoko
