Published on: 27 December 2021

Accra Lions on Monday afternoon fought hard to defeat Real Tamale United FC 2-1 in the Ghana Premier League.

The capital-based club after having a change in managers had failed to win any game in the last three matches.

Today, the team returned to action in the ongoing 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season to face RTU FC at home.

Following a good start to the game in the first half, Accra Lions took the lead in the 27th minute through Hagan Frimpong.

Later in the final minutes of the half, Hagan Frimpong netted his second of the afternoon to give Accra Lions FC a 2-goal lead before the break.

Although RTU will return from recess to put up a good fight that resulted in Frederick Asante pulling one back for the visitors, the hosts labored to protect the lead and won 2-1 at the end of the 90 minutes.
