Published on: 14 February 2022

Dreams FC ended a two-game losing run by narrowly defeating Medeama SC 0-1 at Akoon Park in their final game of the first round of the season.

The pressure is increasing on Medeama coach Umar Rabi after the home team dropped crucial points.

Coach Umar Rabi made six changes to the team that lost 1-0 to Accra Lions last week.

He called up defender Kingsley Adjei, right-back Ranious Alipio, midfielder Michael Sefah, and strikers Darlington Appiah and Justice Mensah for their debuts.

Dreams FC scored their goal through Simba Sylvester on the half hour mark.

Medeama had a wonderful opportunity to score as Nortey Rashid skillfully rounded the goalkeeper and attempted to hit the ball into the empty net, but a timely clearing from skipper Abdul Jalilu kept their advantage intact.

Dreams controlled the speed of the game with an excellent possession strategy, resulting in their first win in Tarkwa.

Medeama launched a lot of attacks on the Dreams backline but the visitors stood firm to deny them.

After added time elapsed, referee Wiseman Ghansah blew his whistle, bringing the game to a close.

The result leaves Medeama on 6th position with 26 points from 17 matches and Dreams FC on 9th position with 23 points from 17 matches.
