2021/22 Ghana Premier League matchday 21: Legon Cities grabs three points against WAFA

Legon Cities on Sunday afternoon improved their prospects of remaining in the Ghana Premier League after defeating struggling WAFA 2-1 at the El Wak Stadium.

Hans Kwofie and Hamza Abdul Nasiru scored in the first half to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage in the fixture.

Kwofie was let through on 23 minutes and smashed the ball past goalkeeper Kwadwo Osei Bonsu's left side for Legon Cities' first goal.

A few minutes later, Maxwell Konadu and his lads extended their advantage, thanks to Nasiru, who destroyed Konadu Yiadom and Bonsu.

WAFA came back stronger in the second half as head coach Guille tweaked his plan and deployed players like Michael Zuo and Godwin Segla.

Moses Ayidem drew one back in the 85th minute, the changes by the coach was spot on.

Ayidem received a pass from Godwin Segla, entered the area, and fired home from close range after the City defense pushed the ball back to him.

Cities are 11th on the Ghana Premier League table while WAFA is in the relegation zone.
