2021/22 Ghana Premier League matchday 23: RTU scores late to defeat Berekum Chelsea 3-2

Published on: 04 April 2022

A late Real Tamale United goal on Monday sealed a 3-2 dramatic win for the side against Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League.

The team from Tamale despite their recent struggles is still confident of escaping relegation at the end of the ongoing 2021/22 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

Today, RTU started the contest against Berekum Chelsea in fine fashion as the team equalized through Issak Kuka in the 24th minute to take a deserved lead.

Unfortunately, the team conceded just four minutes later when Ansu Hanry scored to restore parity for Berekum Chelsea before the break.

After recess, a pulsating encounter ensued between the two clubs as they engaged in end-to-end action.

Mohammed Sadat found the back of the net of the visitors in the 49th minute to give RTU the lead but a goal from Emmanuel Sarpong draw level for Berekum Chelsea for the second time in the game.

Late in added time, however, the home team’s efforts paid off as Baba Kushibo grabbed the third and winning goal for the side.

After bagging the maximum points today, RTU are now one place away from the relegation zone.
