Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko put up a spirited performance on Saturday afternoon to  beat WAFA SC 1-0 At the Sogakope Red Bull Arena.

The Porcupine Warriors club prior to today had been defeated twice in the last two games. In those disappointing matches, the Reds lost to Real Tamale United and Legon Cities FC.

With fans of the club unhappy with the team’s performance, the players of Asante Kotoko today rose to the occasion to turn things around.

In a game serving as a clash on matchday 27 of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season, the visitors did not have it easy as WAFA SC pressed for a win to boost their quest to avoid relegation.

However, courtesy of a strike from Cameroonian forward Frank Mbella in the second half, Asante Kotoko managed to secure all three points after holding on to win 1-0 at the end of the contest.

With today’s win, Asante Kotoko are on course to winning the Ghana Premier League for this season.
