Ghana legend, Mohammed Polo is optimistic Black Stars can make an impact at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
Black Stars are aiming to win their fifth continental trophy next month, having last won it in 1982.
Coach Milovan Rajevac, who replaced CK Akonnor has been tasked to win the 33rd edition of the Afcon.
"I believe they can make an impact in Cameroon," the Hearts of Oak legend told Koforidua-based Bryt FM.
"I once said it will be difficult to end the trophy drought but looking at how things are going under Milovan Rajevac, I have reserved my comment," he added.
Black Stars have already started camping in Doha, Qatar. The team will play two games to give coach Rajevac the opportunity to assess his squad before they fly to Yaounde.
Black Stars have been placed in Group C alongside Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
The tournament will take place from January 9 to February 6 2022.
