SC Paderborn 07 winger Christopher Antwi Adjei is eyeing his first Black Stars appearance against São Tomé and Príncipe in the on-going 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Monday.
The 25-year-old was handed his maiden call-up by coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of Ghana’s game with South Africa last Thursday, however he failed to make the squad due to issues with his documentation.
But a last minute intervention by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) saw Antwi Adjei getting his Ghanaian passport to enable him travel to Ghana.
The highly-rated winger, who watched the Black Stars' 2-0 win over the Bafana Bafana from the stands is hoping to make his debut for the four-time African champions on Monday.
"It will be a dream come true. I really can’t wait to start for Ghana against Sao Tome on Monday," Antwi Adjei told footballmadeinghana.com in an exclusive interview.
"I couldn’t play against South Africa in the opening game because of issues with my passport but I really can’t wait to see myself playing for Ghana," he added.
