Black Stars have been hampered by injuries ahead of their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome Principe.

Coach Kwesi Appiah handed to call-ups to 21 players for the double header, however some of the players will not available due to injuries.

Columbus Crew defender Harrison Afful was the first to withdraw followed by Mubarak Wakaso who broke his hand and has undergone successful surgery.

On Monday, debutantes Mohammed Salisu and Christopher Antwi-Adjei also pulled out of the squad due to injury and passport bureaucracy respectively.

However, the 59-year-old has managed to replace Harrison Afful and Mubarak Wakaso in the squad with Hearts of Oak's Fatawu Mohammed and Gideon Mensah respectively.

Ghana will face South Africa on Thursday at the Cape Coast Stadium before travelling to Sao Tome and Principe to play them four days later.
