New Legon Cities signing, Asamoah Gyan is set to miss their season opener against Berekum Chelsea this weekend due to injury.
Gyan, who joined the Royals this summer on a one-year deal after leaving NorthEast United FC in January has trained with the club ahead of the new Ghana football season.
And according to head coach of the side, Goran Barjaktarevic, confirmed that the forward will not feature in the season opener.
“Asamoah Gyan is one experienced player and he’s still got some problems with injury," he said.
“We are working to get him fit because it is very important when he comes back, he comes back in good shape," he added.
Legon Cities will host Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium.
