2021 Ghana Premier League: Elmina Sharks coach Yaw Acheampong disappointed after conceding "cheap goal" against WAFA

Published on: 30 November 2020

Elmina Sharks head coach Yaw Acheampong has expressed his disappointment after his side conceded a "cheap goal" in the 1-1 draw with WAFA in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League match day three.

Sharks took the lead through Justice Mensah after his long-range drive deflected off a WAFA player before zooming into the net.

After the recess, the home side equalised as Daniel Agbloe ball hit the bar line before cutting it back for Augustine Boakye to connect home beautifully to make it 1-1 in the 51st minute.

Speaking after the game, coach Yaw Acheampong was not pleased about the way his side conceded the equaliser.

"The goal that came…I wasn’t happy with the goal. We were able to take our chances but we give them a very cheap goal and they equalized," he said.

"But the game itself; it was a 50-50 game, so I am okay with the result," he said.

Elmina Sharks are yet to record a win this season after drawing their first three games of the season.

They next play Aduana Stars at home on match week four..
