2021 Ghana Premier League: Hearts coach Kosta Papic criticises players despite win over Dreams FC

Published on: 14 December 2020

Hearts of Oak coach Kosta Papic says his players lack winning mentality despite their 3-0 win over Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Michelle Sarpong scored twice and a goal from Kwadjo Obeng Jnr helped the Phobians cruise to a comfortable victory as they recorded their win of the season.

However, speaking after the game, the Serbian tactician is still not convinced with his players' mentality, insisting they panicked after taking a two goal lead.

"We are struggling to organize ourselves the way that I want. But at least we got the 3 points which is very important that things are coming right and the players are getting the confidence," he said.

"They are leading 2-0 and they start shaking which is (because) they don’t have that winning mentality yet. But we’re working on it."

The win means that the team has climbed to 6th on the standings of the league log with five points.

Hearts have drawn two and lost one prior to the arrival of coach Papic, who led the club to win the league title in 2008.

Hearts  of Oak will take on King Faisal on matchday six of the on-going Premier League.
