The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season has been scheduled to commence this weekend.
But for the Asante Kotoko’s involvement in the CAF Champions League, the first match of the new league season would have been played later this afternoon.
Following the rescheduling of that match involving the defending champions, eight matches are expected to come off on Saturday and Sunday.

Kotoku Royals last season competed in the National Division One League and managed to historically secure promotion to the top-flight league as zonal winners.
For Accra Lions, the club only debuted in the Ghana Premier League last season. Despite a tough start to the campaign, the team managed to excel in key moments to maintain its top-flight status at the end of the season.
