Ghana Premier League newbies Tamale City playing at home was defeated 1-0 by Legon Cities on Sunday afternoon.
Collins Amoah Boateng captained Tamale City for their first home game in the top flight.
The host started very strongly in the cagey encounter, passing very nicely in midfield and making their way into the box of their opponent.
Legon Cities battled hard to implement their game plan and they came close to breaking the deadlock before halftime.
The visitors took the lead through Abdul Rahman in the 68th minute.
Legon Cities made some changes to try and protect their lead and the host always brought on some fresh legs to grab an equalizer. The referee ended the game after the added time elapsed.
Tamale City is 18th with no point on the Ghana Premier League table while Legon Cities is 9th with 3 points. Tamale City will take on Accra Lions in their next game while Legon Cities will face RTU.
